Actor Charlie Sheen, who was arrested early Christmas day in Aspen for allegedly assaulting wife Brooke Mueller, is back on the street, after spending only a few only hours in jail — thanks to a friendly judge. The celebrity gambler has been arrested on felony domestic violence charges. He was taken into custody at 11:20 a.m. Christmas Day after police responded to a 911 call at a home in Aspen, Colorado.
Police spokeswoman Stephanie Dasaro said that Charlie Sheen was able to post $8,500 bond and was freed. Earlier reports said he would be held in jail without bond until he could go before a county judge. He was allowed to post bond after being advised on the conditions of his release, the Associated Press confirmed. Charlie Sheen was charged with felony counts of second-degree assault and menacing, and criminal mischief, a misdemeanor.
However, Charlie Sheen’s well-known lawyer, Richard Cummins, was able to round up a judge to hear the matter immediately. Talk about celebrity favoritism, the court was closed for Christmas. But a judge made a special effort to hear the matter, so Sheen wouldn’t have to cool his heels in jail over the weekend.
Charlie Sheen’s publicist Stan Rosenfield urged the media not to jump to conclusions: “Do not be mislead by appearance,Appearance and reality can be as different as night and day.” Although Sheen’s wife, Brooke Mueller called 911 and claimed her husband struck her, Charlie Sheen reportedly told the police Brooke that Mueller became aggressive toward him, and he was simply trying to fend her off.
Before Brooke Mueller, Sheen was in Denise Richards relationship, Charlie Sheen was accused that he also put the couple’s daughters at risk through his alleged pornography and prostitution habits. Denise Richards alleges Sheen pushed her, shoved her and threatened to kill her during many fights and then made threats against her parents. But that’s not all – the explosive new court documents also expose Sheen’s porn passions.
In the court papers Richards claims, through her new lawyer Neal Hersh, that Sheen has problems with gambling and prostitution, and he told her that he has a madam (prostitution boss). But the most damning part of the new filing comes as Richards recalls spying on Sheen as he surfed the internet during their brief reconciliation last year. She claims she discovered Sheen was visiting websites with “very young girls, who looked underage to me, with pigtails, braces, no pubic hair, performing oral sex with each other.” Charlie Sheen was alleged to have spent more than $50,000 on prostitutes and uttered the now infamous phrase that half the money was for sex and the other has was so they would go away afterward.
Charlie Sheen was identified in the police report by his given name, Carlos Irwin Estevez – the son of actor Martin Sheen and brother of actor-director Emilio Estevez. The star of the hit CBS comedy T.V series “Two and a Half Men” was held in the Pitkin County jail.
Charlie Sheen was born in New York City, on September 3, 1965. Although Charlie was a good student, he also had a mischievous side and made a habit of skipping school to play baseball. In the end, acting was in his blood and he could not ignore the lure of the stage as he entered his late teens.
In 1984, Charlie Sheen made his feature film debut as a lead in the futuristic Red Dawn. He immediately got wrapped up in Hollywood, gaining solid roles on television and in film from the get-go. He married Denise Richards in 2002, and together they had two daughters (he has a third with Paula Profit) before filing for divorce in 2005, and finalizing the dissolution of their marriage in 2006.
Charlie Sheen the highest-paid sitcom actor, his recent comedy T.V series was The Arrival, Spin City, Five Aces and the most popular sitcom Two and a Half Men that would net him $350,000 an episode.
